Operative Video Laparoscopy

A laparoscopy frequently is used to recognize and analyze the cause of abdominal or pelvic disease. Now various reproductive disorders are diagnosed and treated primarily with the laparoscope including pelvic adhesions, endometriosis, and complaints of the Fallopian tubes. Use of laparoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of the infertile couple, and to indicate the expected outcomes of laparoscopic ally treated pelvic disease.

Gynecology – The treatment of circumstances disturbing the female reproductive system.

Laparoscopy used for in women with infertility

Laparoscopy is a medical procedure that includes insertion of a narrow telescope like instrument through a small notch in the belly button. This permits visualization of the abdominal and pelvic organs with the area of the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries.

As part of the surgical evaluation the following are examined:

    • Evaluation of the tubes and ovaries.


    • Exclusion of endometriosis, both overt and subtle


    • Identification of adhesions


    • Inspection of the uterus and the exclusion of fibroids


    • Inspection of the appendix, intestine, gall bladder, liver, and upper abdominal cavity.



Many pelvic disorders can be treated using operative video laparoscopy, always performed at the time of the diagnostic procedure.
