ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is a process in which a single sperm is directly inserted into a mature egg. It is used to help the couples who have very low sperm count or poor sperm quality. The resulting embryos are transferred to your womb in the same way as in a usual IVF cycle. Using a special needle these sperm is injected into the egg, special tools and equipments are used to perform activities like alternative up the best sperms which are inserted in the egg. Both the procedures are complicated and critical and needs to be very careful as it is a delicate procedure too. The sperm is injected to the core of the eggs and this procedure requires high perfection and precision. Special hormonal injection is given to the woman as the uterus needs to be set for the pregnancy.
ICSI treatment is suggested for patients who have low sperm count or has poor sperm motility movement or high number of abnormal semen. If a male partner has absence of sperm count, the sperm is getting back through surgically in those cases.
